Sebastien
launched from the usual soaring launch near the French UP headquarter
of La Plagne, think he'd only fly around in gentle lift and evening
thermals.

A few moments later he was 1000m above the lenticular cloud
at 3750m, struggling to stay upwind but grinning from ear to ear...

He sent us some pictures and videos, some of which I have uploaded to the Gallery
page - he's even talking lots in the video but you'll need to be fairly
fluent in French to make out what he's on about due to wind noise etc.
It is well worth the viewing regardless. Find under "Videos" on the
