Its been a strange year for weather but, finally, we have a 6/6 event - 6 tasks in 6 days!
 
We have been amazingly lucky with the weather this week - we found out last night that it has been raining here in Buzet for the 30 days leading up to Friday and then the weather turned and we have had sunshine all week. You don't get luck like that too often so we are making the most of it.
 

It was always promising to be a tricky task. In the end we had 15 pilots reported in goal but, after the scoring was complete, only 8 of these pilots were confirmed to have made all the turnpoints and then the goal field.
 
The race was won in a time of 2 hours 41 minutes 8 seconds by Gasper Prevc (Slovenia / slo-paragliding.com).
 
First woman today was Marina Olexina (Russia / TEXHOPOC) with an overall distance of 49.26km.
 

The task was running well, considering the conditions, but at around 16:!5 we received a call from the meet director informing us that the task had been cancelled.
At the time, it was raining around the final turnpoint and the decision was made to cancel the task on safety grounds.
Quite a number of pilots have made the goal field but, unfortunately, a stopped elapsed time task is not scored.

Governador offers the first PWC competition 2009 with the new look, it’s called the American Cup. Pilots have the possibility to fly 5 tasks, not always easy due to a lot of humidity through the competition week. The new scoring rules allows to the pilots to play with discards, which means that at the end of the competition the results are not what one should expect at all…
