Jean-Yves was the first to announce that he wanted to fly at Les 7 Meuses today... and since i haven't been airborne for a couple of weeks now, i was of course also overly optimistic about flying today, even with strong wind forecasts...
I jumped on the train of 8h43 in Kortrijk, and soon after somewhere in the Brussels-Central trainstation, Jean-Yves and Anja joined me for a trip to 7Meuses where we arrived around 11h30. Once there, we had a nice one-hour walk up to take-off... but unfortunately the wind was too strong, so we decided to hike back down... this time we did it in 45 minutes :-)
Jean-Yves played a bit with his glider at the landing zone, and right at the moment where we almost decided to go back home, two other pilots arrived and took us back to take-off... and yes, it was flyable this time! I was the first to take off, but somehow I didn't feel quite comfortable in the air... probably because i haven't been flying the last few weeks... so i decided to go land after a flight of about 14 minutes. From the landing-zone, i watched how Jean-Yves and the others started having a nice almost one-hour flight. In the meanwhile, i was able to get to take-off again due to a nice local who picked me up with his car, and this way I was able to make my second flight. Because i saw al the others land and it was getting dark, i also decided to land after again some 14 minutes of flight.
We ended the day with a nice drink at the local pub and afterwards headed back home with the train. I finished the day with some nice French fries and a Bicky Burger. Life is good.
